I am Miluna Valen, Director of the UK-based editorial agency Valen Editorial Ltd.
I work as an editor and writing mentor with publishers and private clients across Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. Before founding Valen Editorial, I spent ten years in private practice as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and have been engaged with psychology and psychoanalysis for over seventeen years. I also served for three years as the founder and editor of a peer-reviewed psychoanalytic journal and am the author of three works of fiction.
I write On Writing, a newsletter exploring authorship, psychoanalysis, philosophy and creative labour.
My academic background includes a BA in Psychology, an MA in Clinical Psychology, and an MA in Economics. I have taught undergraduate economics at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and have been awarded a fully funded PhD place in Economics.
My editorial collaborations include The Oxford Editors (UK), Rowanvale Publishing (UK), BookPOD (Australia), Chiron Publications (US), Spring Cedars Publishing (US), Plumfield Publishing (Canada), and Charles H. Kerr Publishing (US).
I have supported authors across five countries and at all stages of manuscript development. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
If you are working on a manuscript and would like editorial support, I would be pleased to hear from you.
My Approach
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Simple ideas
Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
Lasting impact
We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
